Eurasia Drilling Company Limited ("EDC" or the "Company" - LSE: EDCL) has been notified that Dr. Alexander Djaparidze, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, has purchased 1,180 Global Depositary Receipts of the Company at a price USD 16.90 per GDR on January 5, 2010 for his minor children. After this transaction, Dr. Djaparidze's total holdings in the Company amount to 62,442,899 GDRs (equivalent to 62,442,899 common shares), representing approximately 46% of the Issued and Outstanding Shares of the Company.

The Company has also been notified that S. Douglas Stinemetz, General Counsel of the Company, bought 1,225 GDRs of the Company at USD 17.00 per GDR on January 11, 2009. After this transaction, Mr. Stinemetz's total holdings in the Company amount to 381,225 GDRs (equivalent to 381,225 common shares), representing approximately 0.3% of the Issued and Outstanding Shares of the Company.

EDC is the largest provider of onshore drilling services in Russia, as measured by the number of meters drilled, providing onshore integrated well construction services and workover services. In addition, the Company provides offshore drilling services in the Caspian Sea. The Company offers its onshore integrated well construction services and workover services to local and international oil and gas companies primarily in Russia and its offshore drilling services to Russian and international oil and gas companies in the Russian, Kazakh and Turkmen sectors of the Caspian Sea. The Company is traded on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol "EDCL".
